Commemoration Day and the OW Cricket Weekend 2018

Saturday 7 July – Monday 9 July, from 11am Saturday, MCS, Oxford

As always, there are a number of events taking place as part of the Commemoration Day celebrations. The day starts with the Commemoration Day Service at the University Church of St Mary the Virgin at 11am.

The Commemoration Day Garden Party follows at 1pm on School Field. This is very much a family day, and there will be children’s games on School Field throughout the afternoon, as well as punt rides from 2pm. You can also peruse displays from our Archive in the OW Marquee; please dig out your own MCS memorabilia and come to meet the Archivist.

Complimentary cream teas will be available from 2pm, as well as a paying barbecue from 1pm. We are delighted to offer OWs attending the OW AGM a glass of wine from 2.45pm in the OW tent before the meeting (at 3pm). You will be able to purchase snacks and soft drinks throughout the afternoon and you are welcome to bring a picnic. We look forward to 10, 20 and 25-year reunions of 2008, 1998 and 1993 leavers and others. Please contact the Waynflete Office for assistance with contacting your contemporaries.

The OW Tennis and Cricket matches on School Field against the school teams are Commemoration Day’s invariable highlights. The OW cricket team plays three fixtures across the weekend, with a game against a Jullien Brady XI on Sunday and a match against the South Oxfordshire Amateurs on Monday, following the clash with the Leavers’ XI at Commem. All games will take place on School Field.

There is no charge for any of these events, but please book so that we can cater appropriately.
